WHAT WE DO
We help clients to identify, achieve and maintain their desired lifestyle, whatever happens. We have been doing this since 1982 and as a result we have built experience in most scenarios.
WHY DO WE DO IT?
Our founder had first hand experience of his father-in-law dying with no life insurance and no pensions and leaving his wife with debt. She had to move from their dream home that they had built, back into a council house and his mission has been, since then, to prevent similar events happening to our clients.
SO, HOW DO WE DO IT?
We see ourselves as Alternative Financial Advisers – we really do believe in telling clients the REAL truth about money.
Firstly, we don’t have many clients. In fact WE DON’T WANT MANY CLIENTS. We only want clients with whom we can build a mutually profitable long term relationship.
In order to do this we provide a very intimate service, one which isn’t based on the sale of financial products, but one that revolves entirely around our clients real needs; one in which we help clients to identify and achieve their real financial goals and objectives.
We do this by wearing THREE hats.
The first hat we wear is that of a ‘Lifeplanner’. The Lifeplanners job is to identify exactly where you are now, how you got to where you are now, and more important, where you want get to in the next 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years. In fact, what it is you want to do between now and the day you die. Life’s not a rehearsal, and precious time IS slipping away. Our job therefore is to identify exactly what sort of life you want to live and in particular the type of lifestyle you want to enjoy.
Then, when we know what you want to achieve, we’ll then take off our ‘Lifeplanners hat’ and put on our second ‘Financial Planners hat’. The Financial planners job is to identify all of the financial resources available to you now; all of the resources becoming available to you in the future, and more important, all of the resources that you might NEED to become available, in order to help satisfy the needs of your ‘life plan’.
When we have this information we then put together a comprehensive plan which will show you what your financial future looks like – and what action you might need to take to achieve your goals and desired lifestyle. We will also explain to you that the comprehensive plan is not where it ends but is only the beginning. Plans need altering as your circumstances alter and we will review, on a regular basis, your financial plan to help ensure that you are on track to achieve your goals.
Finally, when we’ve agreed on a financial plan, IF any financial products are needed to help satisfy the needs of your financial plan, IF they are, then we’ll take off our Financial Planners hat and put on our third hat which is that of an INDEPENDENT financial adviser in order to identify which financial products or investments from the whole market place should be implemented to achieve your goals.
So, as you can see, we do things a little different to most Advisers. Being an IFA is the LEAST IMPORTANT part of the job I do. And here’s the important thing: when I eventually do that part of the job, I’ll be doing it KNOWING and UNDERSTANDING what you are trying to achieve – therefore any products or investments (if any) will be recommended for all the RIGHT reasons – not because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
