After leaving college where he studied Business and Accountancy, Max trained as a Cost & Management Accountant for five years. He then entered the Financial Services industry in 1979 with one of the largest insurance companies in the UK, promoting their products and services to Independent Financial Advisers. In 1982 he joined a small regional broker and becoming a partner, and then in 1987 formed his own business Max Horne Financial Service, as an independent financial advisory business.
Over the past 25 years Max Horne has offered independent financial advice to individuals and companies on investments, pensions and protection.
He empowers people to make confident decisions about their financial future.
Max is enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about his work and his aim is to make the serious business of financial planning both engaging and interesting.
Fraser has been with the firm since 2012. He has a BA(Hons) Finance, Investment & Risk, which has given him a firm understanding of complex financial products. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, and is currently working towards the Advanced Diploma.
Fraser is a specialist in Investments and Retirement Planning. He deals a lot with businesses, guiding them through their responsibilities for Automatic Enrolment and other financial decisions. He is one of a small handful of individuals in Scotland who holds the Pension Management Institute’s Certificate in Pensions Automatic Enrolment qualification. Many businesses find Fraser’s advice invaluable and have relied upon it when making major financial decisions.
In his spare time, Fraser enjoys keeping active by going to the gym, swimming and socialising with friends. He is also a keen golfer, having recently taken the sport back up again after a 5 year break!
Trudi has responsibility for preparing quotes, reports and meeting packs, arranging and diarizing appointments, diary reviews for both new and existing business, accounts, invoicing and banking.
Trudi has been with the business and its predecessors for over 15 years and has a wide experience within Financial Services and knows which companies can provide a solution and which companies can’t.
Donna has responsibility for gathering the history of client’s existing plans, recording information into our IT systems, issuing valuations to clients, checking policy documents before issuing them to clients, initiating fund switches and checking that these have been carried out correctly by the investment companies concerned.
Donna has been with the firm and its predecessors for over 15 years.
Jane joined the company in 2012 and has responsibility for client contact at review dates, retirement dates and maturity/expiry of policies.
Jane also reconciles insurance and investment company statements. Jane has a vast previous experience in both building societies and insurance broking environments.
Bill joined the company in 2016 and has responsibility for contacting each of our clients on a 6 monthly or annual basis. This is an important part of our process as we believe keeping our clients informed is vitally important. Bill does this extremely well.
Bill also has responsibility of producing our Best Rate Watch email, and this involves Bill keeping up-to-date with the latest bank and building society interest rates on various accounts.
Bill has over 30 years experience in the profession and was previously a Financial Adviser. In the past he has specialised in Business Planning, Banking, Non Advisory Asset Management and Deposit Banking.
